Cool website for anyone with teenagers

I have a customer who is a Delta pilot who runs a motivational book/speaking business on the side. But, his business has a twist. He talks about drinking with teenagers and college kids. And not the normal old drinking is bad speech, but one more about making educated choices. We all know kids are going to drink, so why don't we educate them to do it more responsibly? I think this is a step in the right direction. Educated teens may make better choices thus reducing injuries and deaths from this addictive drug. Check out his website here:

Mickey's Vey Merry Christmas Party

After putting off paying for the "extras" such as MVMCP for so many years, we finally decided to try it out. To clear up some rumors floating around in the Disney-verse, you CANNOT use a Magic Your Way day in lieu of a ticket for the party. Disney does require a separate hard ticket for this event. I will do every hard ticket party Disney offers from here on out- the smaller crowds, the more personalized attention, and all the FREEBIES make up for the price! And heck, you still get to enter the park at 4:00, so you get a whole 8 hours at the park! That's like a whole day without the blistering Florida sun! Well here you go, some pictures to enjoy!

Grand Villa at Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village

We just got back from an awesome vacation! Buying into the Disney Vacation Club was by far THE BEST decision we have ever made. We saved up our points for the first 2 years and borrowed from our third year to be able to get the grand villa for a week for our son's 5th birthday. We also did Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which I highly recommend for anyone who has done Disney as many times as we have (30+). It's a great way to hit your favorite rides, see some spectacular shows and be pampered by Disney without any of the crowds! I loved the snow on Main Street, free hot chocolate, cookies and being able to literally walk up to any ride I wanted! But, contrary to popular belief, as on many other blogs, you CANNOT use one of your Magic Your Way days as a ticket to the party. It is a hard ticket event, so you cannot "trade" a day on your MYW or annual pass for a MVMCP ticket. Well enough jibber jabber, I scoured the internet before my trip for pictures of the Grand Villa at Kidani Village, so here you go!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Wow! It sure was a busy week! This was the last week of school for Maddie. I cannot believe I have a 1st grader! And Spencer is going to be in Pre-K. Time is just flying way too fast. This past week was nuts. Memorial Day we didn't do anything, but Tuesday was super busy at work. My schedule had been changed, yet nobody told me, so I rushed into work and it was very hectic. Wednesday we had the home inspection, and for a house that is 150 years old, it was in exceptional shape! There is only one bit of settlement the inspector wanted to be fixed! Most of the stuff was easy fixes, like a larger p-trap for the master shower, fix a slow leak under a sink, etc. Thursday I worked open-close (9:30-8:15) and then it was Friday! Saturday we had a graduation party and today we have a 1 year old's birthday party. Talk about one end of the spectrum to the other!
The website has been kind of slow in the past couple of weeks. Here is the link: http://www.cheapmakeuponline.com. Check it out! Lots of great deals on haircare, skincare, makeup, accessories, underwear and more! If you order from reading this blog, you get 10% off! Use coupon code BLOG10 at checkout!
Well, gotta go get ready for church!

Good News!

WELL.......... We got the house!!! We are under contract to close September 16th. We are super excited. This house is so awesome. We can walk to all the shops and restaraunts of downtown Acworth! So awesome. Tomorrow I go over there again to get the house inspected. And now onto other good news... this is the last week of school! Hip hip hooray! No more waking up at 6:00 to get Maddie on the bus at 6:50! Woohoo. As most of you know I am not a morning person. Needless to say, it's not necessarily my fault! I went for a sleep study last week. Oh boy, did that turn out to be the worst night's sleep I have ever had. I got there about 8:30pm and did not get finished getting hooked up to all the wires until about 11:00. I'm sorry, but my bedtime is 10:00. Not a good start to the night. Then, it was impossible to sleep hooked up to all those wires! At 5:30am I woke up (remember I'm not a morning person) and then they started the multiple sleep latency test. The MSLT tested me for narcolepsy. I had to take a series of short naps every two hours (approximately) to see if I went straight into REM sleep or not. By the time I finally got home around 4:30 I was so pooped, it felt like I was drunk! Let me tell you I have never slept so good in my OWN, comfy bed. Ever! The rest of the week just dragged on. Busy at work, working out, cleaning, yada yada yada. Same old stuff. Until the weekend. Then my nice long Memorial Day weekend just flew by. Oh well. Back to work today! Now I am officially full time again, so maybe I'll do better at managing my time. (That went by the waysid while I was part time). Well, gotta go cuddle with my little man!

Bah Humbug.

Well, as many people know, we are trying to "upgrade" our house. Today we went to look at this beautiful Victorian house built in 1866 for the third time. Problem is, we had renters back in 2007 who screwed up our credit. Now we're trying to purchase this new house and we're getting quite frustrated by the things that keep coming up. From the credit issues. From our renters. Three years ago! Hopefully we'll have this worked out soon and be able to close between July and September.
The house is beautiful. It has ornately carved wood on the deck, moldings, etc. Even the hinges on the doors are exquisite. Attention to detail back then was amazing. The house was built by Lt. LH Tanner of the Confederate Army. It is right across the street from all of the restaraunts and shops of historic downtown Acworth. Also, it is only a short walk to Acworth Beach so we can go enjoy that in the summer.
Hopefully this will all work out.
Fingers crossed!

Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Ahh...

Ahh, the Beatles. What a great band. What happened to music like that?

Well, I am super excited about the successful adoptions this weekend at the Paulding Humane Society. As of Monday, there were only 5 dogs left and a little over a dozen cats! Over 200 adoptions this weekend alone. Too bad we can't keep up the pace on a normal basis, without having to react to a situation like the pound closing!

Just a quick recap today. Gotta go workout, then another crazy day... Norman => vet. Me => Dr. appt. Maddie => ballet pictures. And it's my day off!

Maddie's ballet recital was super cute. They did the Wonderful, Whimsical Wiz. The songs were from Wicked, The Wiz, and Wizard of Oz. I know I'm biased, but she really is one of the best in the class. She did everthing in step with the teacher's assistant on stage. No delay or watching! Afterwards, we went to Marietta Square for ice cream, then Greek for dinner. I love that our kids will try any type of food, and generally like it. Maddie had Chicken Souvlaki, and Spencer had some of Allan's gyros. I just had Dolmades. Yum! Maddie ate her Souvlaki then looked over the table at Allan and was like, "I LOVE that meat! Can I have some?" So she ended up eating some of Allan's gyro too!

Hmm, what did we do Monday? Oh yeah. Allan and I had a date on the Square for lunch then browsed some old houses for sale. Too bad we can't afford them... Oh well. We did find one in our price range in old Acworth, but found out AFTER we fell in love with it that it already had a contract on it. :(

Well, I have to go. Busy day ahead.
