Well, as many people know, we are trying to "upgrade" our house. Today we went to look at this beautiful Victorian house built in 1866 for the third time. Problem is, we had renters back in 2007 who screwed up our credit. Now we're trying to purchase this new house and we're getting quite frustrated by the things that keep coming up. From the credit issues. From our renters. Three years ago! Hopefully we'll have this worked out soon and be able to close between July and September.
The house is beautiful. It has ornately carved wood on the deck, moldings, etc. Even the hinges on the doors are exquisite. Attention to detail back then was amazing. The house was built by Lt. LH Tanner of the Confederate Army. It is right across the street from all of the restaraunts and shops of historic downtown Acworth. Also, it is only a short walk to Acworth Beach so we can go enjoy that in the summer.
Hopefully this will all work out.
Fingers crossed!

Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Ahh...
Ahh, the Beatles. What a great band. What happened to music like that?
Well, I am super excited about the successful adoptions this weekend at the Paulding Humane Society. As of Monday, there were only 5 dogs left and a little over a dozen cats! Over 200 adoptions this weekend alone. Too bad we can't keep up the pace on a normal basis, without having to react to a situation like the pound closing!
Just a quick recap today. Gotta go workout, then another crazy day... Norman => vet. Me => Dr. appt. Maddie => ballet pictures. And it's my day off!
Maddie's ballet recital was super cute. They did the Wonderful, Whimsical Wiz. The songs were from Wicked, The Wiz, and Wizard of Oz. I know I'm biased, but she really is one of the best in the class. She did everthing in step with the teacher's assistant on stage. No delay or watching! Afterwards, we went to Marietta Square for ice cream, then Greek for dinner. I love that our kids will try any type of food, and generally like it. Maddie had Chicken Souvlaki, and Spencer had some of Allan's gyros. I just had Dolmades. Yum! Maddie ate her Souvlaki then looked over the table at Allan and was like, "I LOVE that meat! Can I have some?" So she ended up eating some of Allan's gyro too!
Hmm, what did we do Monday? Oh yeah. Allan and I had a date on the Square for lunch then browsed some old houses for sale. Too bad we can't afford them... Oh well. We did find one in our price range in old Acworth, but found out AFTER we fell in love with it that it already had a contract on it. :(
Well, I have to go. Busy day ahead.

Paulding County Humane Society
Hi everyone! The Paulding County Humane Society in the Atlanta area is closing May 28th for renovations. There is currently a rat problem (which is normal at animal shelters), but the rats have eaten through electrical wires and caused havoc. Any animals left will be euthanized. As of Friday there where about 70 dogs, 60 cats, and other animals available. Please don't let these precious babies be put down! Go out and adopt an animal today!!! And yes, they still have puppies and kittens available!!!

Crazy Weekend
Wow. This weekend has been CRAZY!! Yeah, sure I've had four days off in a row. I know. It's supposed to be relaxing. ***sigh*** Thursday we had a field trip to Cagle's Dairy. Pretty cool. Kindergarteners are so cute and excited over the littlest things, I swear! It took us 2 hours to get there even though it should only take 1/2 hour because the school gave the bus drivers bad directions. Imagine a HOT, non airconditioned bus in Atlanta heat with 40 screaming kindergarteners. At least I got to enjoy Maddie's first field trip with her, and that's the important thing. I was so worn out I almost fell asleep on the bus on the way home!
So Friday I went to the sleep specialist. It took me 2 hours in rush hour traffic to get there. I literally left our house at 8:00 and walked in their door at 9:59, only to be told by the receptionist that they had rescheduled me for the Marietta location (which is only about 15 minutes away) at 2:00 that day. Seriously, I wanted to bust out crying because I had to get up early, rush there and got lost on the way! At least they were nice and still saw me at that office. I'll go for a sleep study sometime soon. Just have to get it scheduled.
Well, that evening Allan went out with Josh so I ended up having a date night with the kids. Let me tell you having a sleep over in one bed with two "bed hogs" is crazy!
Saturday we had Maddie's dress rehearsal for ballet, then off to Julie's going away party. Long story short, Texas margaritas are potent.
Today, Sunday was nuts as usual. Wake up, church, out for lunch, run to home depot (where Spencer decides to pee himself), get ready for recital, recital, ice cream on the square, dinner (where Spencer decided to tell the waitress he was going to pee the bed tonight), put the kids to bed, and PHEW my day is over. Just chilling in bed, ready for a new crazy week to begin!
